UK And EU Continue Brexit Trade Talks

Britain and the European Union continued trade talks, although it is teetering on the brink of a no-deal Brexit departure. Britain left E.U. on January 31 but allowed many things, including international trade, to remain the same for the following 11 months. The two sides are not able to reach a decision over fishing rights, fair competition, and how to resolve future disputes. U.K. and E.U. negotiators are continuing their talks at E.U. headquarters with less than three weeks to go until the U.K. leaves the 27-nation bloc. If an agreement cannot be reached by the end of this year, then E.U. offered to maintain the train, airline, and freight operations with Britain for six months. New Year’s Day will bring big changes even if no deal is reached since no longer will goods and people be able to move between the U.K. and its neighbors as it was when Britain was part of the E.U.
