The Two Lives

They say that there’s only one life
But for me, it’s a lie
My life before Christ and after Christ
I say the worst and the best
The old me
When my life was a wreck
Excessively appropriate for this world
Excessively appropriate to the power of this world to be played with
A messed-up heart and brimming with breaks
With fears in my heart
Also, tears in my eyes
I meandered all around not realizing what is going near
As of now, it’s a new me after I am in Christ
Where I’m at peace when my life is in pieces
A Newspaper of Christ when I’m in the test
Loved me to bits, though I was lost
With faith in my heart
Also, hope in my eyes
Yes, this I know: God is for me and I am in Christ

Grace George Kathettu is an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Entomology at Apollo Institute of Agriculture Technology and Research in Hyderabad, India. She holds degree from Annamalai University (BSc., Agriculture) and Pondicherry University (MSc., Agricultural Entomology). She is the daughter of Pastor K.V George (ministering in IPC Kumbanad Centre) and the Late Mary George; and sister of Gifty George.
